Overwatch 2 - Junkrat Redesign

Three female characters from the game Overwatch 2 standing against a sky background.

As a creative challenge, the goal was to redesign Junkrat's launcher from Overwatch 2 and develop a weapon system for it using Wwise. This project aimed to simulate how the system would function as if it were integrated into a game engine. To achieve this, a screen recording of the game was imported into Pro Tools, where MIDI was added to simulate where a game engine would trigger events. The MIDI data was then routed to TouchOSC, which connected to Wwise via a control surface. Finally, the MIDI was assigned to Soundcaster to trigger the events. This process brought the weapon system to life, creating a dynamic and interactive audio experience. Below is a clip demonstrating the process.

A muscular cartoon character with wild flame-like hair holding a large gun with flames coming out of the smoke. He is shirtless, wearing tattered green shorts with patches, a utility belt, and bandages on his legs. He has a mischievous grin, and the character appears to be in a playful, aggressive stance.
